Aside from age, what are the basic requirements to be a festival Volunteer?
  • Most volunteer positions can be physically demanding to some degree whether it be standing, sitting, walking, lifting or using tools for extended periods of time. Please be prepared for all types of weather. Wear comfortable footwear. Bring sunscreen, hats, jackets, rain gear and bug spray.
Where can I find descriptions about the different volunteer positions available?
  • Volunteer positions can be found on the application under assignment preference. Click on the position you would like to learn more about. Volunteer positions are guest interfacing. In other words, they are “front of house” roles. Volunteers will not be granted VIP or backstage privileges. Regardless of when and where you work, your role is critical in the success of the festival!
Are there any special perks for being a volunteer at the Bloomin’ Temple Festival?
  • Besides the camaraderie of taking part in this community festival, you will receive a volunteer t-shirt to wear during your shift, free admission and a festival swag bag.   Volunteers will work a 4 hour shifts minimum.
How long are the shifts?
  • All volunteer shifts are scheduled for 4 hours. You may volunteer for more than one shift in different areas on one or both days. If it weren’t for those who do sign up for more than one shift, we probably wouldn’t fill all the necessary positions. After completing the application form and selecting your availability, you will receive a follow up email with further instruction. NOTE: Your submitted application does not guarantee that you will be selected.
Can my family members or friends volunteer?
  • Yes - you may request to work with members of your family (volunteers must be 16 years of age or older) or other friends, but it is not guaranteed. Please ensure that you both sign up for the same work area and shift. Those who are not volunteering must pay an admission fee at the gates. For the safety of the younger children that may accompany you, please arrange for someone to be with them while you are volunteering. Only the trained volunteer may be at the area of volunteering during their shift.
