Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in being a Volunteer at the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum? We have different areas where you can make a difference. 


Collections/Archives Assistant –  Volunteers help conduct an inventory of 3D collections, maintain accession files, enter data in the PastPerfect database, and assist with archival projects. Strict guidelines for the handling of artifacts are maintained.

Gift Shop Assistant – Volunteers assist in the tracking of merchandise, monthly inventory, and labeling of items for sale.

Education Assistant – Volunteers assist with school tours, event and craft preparation, Family Day activities, and support all other Education-related activities with the Museum.

Special Events Assistant – Volunteers assist with event set-up/tear down, coordination of tasks for/during event, direct participation in events, and clean up after event. 

Exhibits Assistant – Volunteers assist with the fabrication and installation of exhibits. Desired skills include carpentry, painting, and programming.
